The Three Graces:
In ancient mythology The Three Graces daughters of Zeus, were said to represent beauty, charm and joy. The Graces presided over banquets and gatherings primarily to entertain and delight the guests of the Gods. Having played a small role in Greek Mythology they have subsequently played a large role in Art History and have been the subject of artists through the ages.

This piece is based on the sculpture by Canova, it depicts the Graces as Amy Winehouse in differing stages of her career so far with little beauty, no charm and even less joy. It shows her at the height of her career, crippled by drink and drugs, and then rejuvenated even with a boob job. We only know characters such as these through the images we are fed in the media, inspiring the graphic quality and block colours of the piece.
