Tecnica: La forma del vaso viene arrotolata e poi deformata in parti. I rami vengono estrusi e lasciati essiccare separatamente. Entrambi vengono cotti a 980 ºC separatamente. La cottura dei rami lontano dal vaso mi permette di controllare la loro forma. Poi entrambi vengono decorati indipendentemente con trucioli di porcellana, frammenti rotti da vasi scartati, e smaltati separatamente con smalti celadon e metallizzati che creano interessanti effetti di riduzione. Questa tecnica mi permette di controllare completamente dove e quanto smalto voglio mettere sui pezzi. The vase shape is coiled into shape and then deformed in parts. The branches are extruded and left to dry separately. both are biscuit fired to 980ºC separately. By firing the branches away from the vase, it also allows me to control their shape. Then both are independently decorated with porcelain shavings, broken nuggets from rejected pots, and glazed separately with celadon and metallic glazes that create interesting reduction effects. they are joined just before placing in the kiln letting the glazes act as binders. This technique allows me to fully control where and how much glaze I want to put on the pieces.
