The March of Time

My works are made of many tiny pieces of white porcelain. I try to express the own properties of material which is clay, such as color, transparency and tactile sensitiveness.

I put some abstract meanings into these material characteristics. Many ceramic pieces mean the march of time. Its constant repetition signifies our ordinary routine life and monotonous practice. White color symbolizes eternity and emptiness. The most important meaning is loaded at the center of each work. It stands for a kind of wound, which is a metaphor of path of life. I think that a path of life is a path of communication. When we communicate with other people, we often hurt them or are hurt by them. But the mark of injury is respectively different, and those differences make the main characteristic of each person.

While I made these works, they made me calm and concentrated, which is something like reaching high spiritual level. I want to share those feelings and emotions with other people through my works.
