All things and living beings are the result of a inevitable balance between cause and effect, which rules all the universal existence. LIGHT can be seen as a synonymous of creation, and SHADE the opposite, death although meening of re-creation and nourishment of life, which implies that one can’t exist without the other. That is my work is always talking about, from the materials I use, the shape that takes or the way that is displayed.

Because the ceramic process involves all the natural elements that created us, is a form of expression that I’m fully satisfyed to work with. As a professional ceramic artist also for living, I face every day the technical problems of the materials, who had throwned me to a humble place as a human under the power of natural laws, in all senses.

The use of plaster is far more than aesthetic reason, but because it is a ceramic material which the process to achieve is more durable state is the opposite of clay, as the gypsum is fired first to be able to react with water that drives it to its final state. So these 2 opposite directions are also together in the same object.

The porcelain part of this work is made with porcelain paste mixed with smashed newspaper and fired in layers between newspaper also, in piles of 70 cm each. After fired the sheets have been outside doors for 6 years, as I want to use them when some amount of time and impressions of the place would take part also.
